YOUNGSTERS had a few puzzles to solve when they were paid a visit by a crossword genius.
Year 9 English students at Coopers Technology College, Hawkwood Lane, Chislehurst learnt how to solve cryptic crosswords with the help of professional crossword setter Tim Moorey.
Mr Moorey has previously set puzzles for the Sunday Times and the Sunday Telegraph.
The 25 pupils aged 14 learnt about the history of the crossword, why people do them and also did a crossword containing all their names.
English teacher Emma Moorey said: "The kids really loved it, there were quite a few who did really well.
"When they got the clues they found it very satisfying."
