YOUNGSTERS have been given lessons in cookery by a Sicilian chef.
Year 6 pupils aged 10 and 11 from Highfield Junior School, South Hill Road, Shortlands, spent three hours at La Pasta restaurant in Bromley High Street and cooked a three course meal.
With the guidance of chef Vincenzo Oliveri, the children learnt about health and safety, food hygiene, different kinds of ingredients and where food comes from.
They made pizza, hamburgers and a chocolate cake.
Mr Oliveri, aged 45, originally from Palermo, Sicily but now of Durham Road, Bromley, said: "The children put in so much effort, it was unbelievable."
