A man is in police custody after allegedly threatening to harm himself and police officers on a main road in Shortlands.
Police and an ambulance attended the scene in Beckenham Lane in Shortlands shortly before 7pm on Tuesday.

According to onlookers, several police cars and an ambulance were at the scene.
A spokeswoman from Met Police confirmed: "Police were called at approximately 18:35hrs on Tuesday, 22 May to a residential address on Beckenham Lane in Bromley following reports of a man threatening to self-harm.
"Officers and a specially trained negotiator attended.
"The man was subsequently arrested for making threats to kill police officers.
"He was taken to a south London police station where he remains in custody.
There were no reported injuries."
