The granddaughter of a man believed to have lived in Orpington in the 80s is asking the public for help finding him.

Beccy Medhurst, 23, from Edenbridge, wants to find her granddad, Brian Roberts, so she can reunite him with her own father.

She told News Shopper: “My dad has been asking about him a lot lately. He never had a father figure and now he is getting older he wants to know about his dad, and whether he is still alive.”

Philip Medhurst, 52, has only ever met his father once – when he was 22-years-old.

When Brian turned up at his son’s door 30 years ago an angry Philip refused to speak to the man who was never involved in his childhood.

Beccy said: “He is not angry at all anymore. He just wants to meet him before the end of his life.”

The family know little about the life of Brian Roberts – but they believe he was born around 1936 and lived in either St Mary’s Cray or St Paul’s Cray between 1980 and 1990.

Despite acknowledging it was a long shot – Beccy said it would be special for her dad and granddad to meet once more.

She said: “It would mean so much for dad. I am sure he would be nervous and would have lots of questions. But he would be so happy.

“It would be a massive relief for him also. Even to find out if he has passed on, he just wants to know.”

Beccy has asked anybody who may know details about Brian Roberts to contact her via becamymedhurst@hotmail.com
