Disgruntled shoppers have accused Marks and Spencer of being "disgraceful" after problems with flower deliveries on Mother's Day.
People took to Twitter to complain they were kept in the dark about the delivery of their flowers and then received emails saying their orders had been ‘cancelled’.
While some said they were let down by non-delivery, others posted photos of flowers that did arrive but appeared to be damaged.
One lady said: “Shame the flowers i ordered for my mum never turned up on mothers day..not happy m&s..please sort this out.”
Another said: “@marksandspencer disgraceful.. my mother is very ill and it was the first year I had to spend Mother’s day apart(as i had to work abroad) and wanted to treat her with M&S’ 'beautiful' flowers.. but never arrived....absolutely distraught....disgusting service.”
Lots of people said that they only received the email that their flowers were not going to be delivered at 4pm on Mothering Sunday.
@marksandspencer very upset - told at 10am Mother’s Day Flowers were on their way, then received an email at 4pm, once all the shops were shut, saying they couldn’t be delivered. My poor Mum left with nothing today. £10 gift card not really good enough M&S, I trusted you guys.

A Marks & Spencers spokeswoman said: “We are disappointed if anyone feels let down and encourage them to contact our customer services team.”
She added: “The vast majority of flowers were delivered on time. However, a very small number of customers had orders postponed, we contacted each customer as soon as possible to offer a full refund and gesture of goodwill.”
@marksandspencer Appalled that M&S can mess up so badly. Don’t guarantee delivery of flowers on Mother’s Day if you can’t cope with the orders. They were dispatched this morning, then told this afternoon they can’t be delivered. Upset doesn’t begin to describe it.

Never buy flowers from M&S for delivery especially on Mother's day! Emailed @4pm - sorry they're not going to be delivered...here's a £10 gift card. Not acceptable! #notgoodenough #MarksAndSpencer #M&S

This is how my mum received her Mother’s Day gift from me from @marksandspencer. They have not bothered to try and rectify this situation. Loads of people received an email at 4pm yesterday cancelling their orders. Not what you expect from a big company like this. Pls RT. pic.twitter.com/gPu0JQefrc

So what do you think? Is this unacceptable from such a big organisation? Add your comments below.
