Graffiti has been scrawled across a number of town centre shops overnight.

Bromley shop managers came to work this morning (January 19) to find the damage to their front store windows.

An apparent serial graffiti artist targeted a number of stores on Bromley High Street, leaving black scribbles across the front of each building.

Up to 17 shops were targeted, including fast food outlets, clothes stores, and even the British Heart Foundation charity shop.

The manager at KFC on the high street said he had to get special chemicals in to clean the windows when he came in this morning.

He said: “There was a lot of graffiti and I had to call a window cleaner and he had to leave and come back with special materials and chemicals to clean it off.

“He spent about three hours taking off all the graffiti.

“We have a special cover on the windows so it wasn’t that bad. If it was a real window it would be a lot more difficult to clean.

“This is the first time something like this has happened. All our neighbours, including the bank, were hit by it.”

A staff member at British Heart Foundation in Bromley confirmed they had been hit too, although not quite as badly as other stores.

The manager at Ryman Stationary said: “It’s quite the shock, the majority of the high street were hit. Luckily we weren’t hit.”

Met Police has been contacted for comment.
