It's a pub where everyone knows your name - or at least the name of your dog.

And now The Greyhound in Keston is hoping to become London’s friendliest pub for dogs.

It's currently fourth on the leaderboard out of pubs across London in the Dog-friendly Pub Awards.

Landlady Toni Lee, 42, said: “We are an extremely dog friendly pub. We’re in a great location with woods and ponds so people can go for a walk and then come into our pub.

“We have a doggy sausage, it’s a very popular little treat. Even the dogs know about it!

“Some of the dogs jump on the bar ready for their treat.

“All our staff are very dog friendly people so the dogs get a lot of attention.

“We often know the dogs’ names before the names of the owners.”

Last week the pub made the news after covering one of its walls with paintings of customers' dogs painted by staff member Rosie Hillman.

The Lee family are dog lovers just like their customers and staff. They had a St. Bernard dog who sadly passed away.

Toni added:“I grew up with St. Bernards and then we had a Bernese mountain dog. We hold a meet for Bernese mountain dogs.

“We just love them. I’ve even looked after the customers’ dogs when they are away. The dogs come upstairs and stay with me for a night.”

She also believes dogs help children learn important lessons as they grow up.

She added: “When we lost Wellington my son was devastated. He was a part of the family.”

Voting closes on October 29.
