A woman has been raped in an alleyway in St Paul's Cray after being followed when she got off a bus late at night.

The woman in her 20s was attacked in Millwood Road in the early hours of September 30.

She had got off a bus nearby just after midnight, and was walking down the alleyway running between Brantwood Way and Millwood Road.

The woman thought she was being followed and was then attacked from behind.

CCTV from Millwood Road shows a man walking away from the alleyway minutes after the attack.

Police have released an image of the man who they want to trace as he may be a "significant witness".

There have been no arrests so far.

Detective Constable James White, who leads the investigation for the Met's sexual offences command, said: "This incident took place in a secluded area, and the attack has left the woman traumatised by her ordeal.

"We are releasing an image of a man that we believe may have information that could assist us with our investigation.

"He may be a significant witness and we would ask him, and anyone else who was in the area at just after midnight on Saturday, September 30, to come forward and speak to us."

Anyone with information should call the witness line on 07990 793471.
