Food safety inspections will benefit from a £238k cash boost from Bromley Council.
The council’s executive decided to pump in the extra cash to improve vital services including food safety inspections and business continuity planning.
A portion of the money will be used to recruit new Food Safety Officers.
Councillor Kate Lymer, executive councillor for public protection and safety, said: “A lot has happened in the last 2 years which has changed the context in which local services are delivered and we are responding to this by making additional resources available in these much-needed service areas, with our prudent budgeting approach enabling this additional carefully targeted spending.
“Safety is important and so is maintaining the universal services we provide.
"This will help ensure that our services continue to be delivered in the best and most efficient way going forward.”
