A Bromley policeman has been dismissed for misconduct after he lied to his supervisors about completing an enquiry.
Police Constable Michael Burgess had claimed he had completed an arrest enquiry on man who had failed to answer to police bail, including completing an entry on the system and telling his supervisors, on October 10, 2016.
However, it was later revealed that he had never completed the enquiry.
A two day misconduct hearing into his actions concluded that Mr Burgess was guilty of gross misconduct on Thursday, March 23. He has been dismissed without notice.
Detective Chief Superintendent Matt Gardner, of the Met's Directorate of Professional Standards, said: "Police officers must be honest and act with integrity as a fundamental value to their character.
“Sadly this officer has made a false entry on the crime report then compounded the false entry by misleading his supervisor.
“His conduct has fallen below what the public rightly expect from their police service."
