Ten people were arrested and large amounts of class A and B drugs were found during dawn drugs raids across south-east London.

Nine men and one woman, aged between 15 and 40, were arrested yesterday morning after Bromley Police executed search warrants in Mottingham, Lewisham, Greenwich and East Ham.

The arrests are the culmination of an eight-month operation launched by detectives from Bromley Crime Squad last summer.

Twelve suspects, men aged between 18 and 28, were previously arrested in connection with this operation on 12th and 13th December last year.

Ten pleaded guilty to offences including burglary, theft and drugs supply and await sentencing and two are currently awaiting trial.

Detective Sergeant Gary Head from Bromley Police’s Crime Squad said: "The Mottingham area has seen an increase in serious criminality and this operation has seen us targeting those offenders who have brought misery to the area.

"I hope this provides reassurance to the local community that we will tackle problems in their area and increases their confidence in the ongoing work we are doing to keep them safe."

Anyone with any information about criminality in their area should speak to their local Safer Neighbourhoods police team or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
