A grandmother of two wants to extend a special thank you to a Bromley man who carried her shopping all the way home.

While looking after her grandchildren Rosemary Warren, 71, was carrying some Christmas shopping back from Nightingale Road when she began to seriously struggle with the weight.

A man, known only as Liam from Tylney Road, stopped and asked Mrs Warren if he could carry the bags.

She was reluctant at first but, because the weight had become far too much, conceded.

Mrs Warren said: "He carried the bags all the way home.

"He was so sweet. In this day and age you're so suspicious.

"It would restore one's faith in youngsters and human nature."

Liam was described as being in his late teens or early twenties and owns his own business.

Mrs Warren, who is from Staplehurst in Kent but often comes to Bromley to look after her grandchildren, was so grateful she said she wishes she had asked him exactly where he lived.

She said: "It was such a kind thing to do."
