A mysterious philanthropist has told an acoustic folk duo from Beckenham they will donate up to £10,000 for cancer research on the back of their Christmas single.

The single ‘Christmas Dreams’ was released in time for the holidays and the supporter contacted the musicians informing the band that they would donate £1 for every download of the single.

Michael Dale and Tom Harrison’s festive tune has been viewed over 13,000 times on social media and their mysterious benefactor has said they will donate up to a maximum of £10,000.

The collected funds will be donated to the Prevent Breast Cancer charity and the band, which is called I am the Cold Man, say they are delighted to be helping the cause.

Michael, who attended St Christopher’s School, said: “We really hope that by teaming up with Prevent Breast Cancer we can help raise money for the amazing work they do whilst also getting a festive song back to the chart summit where it belongs.

“We are so grateful for everyone who has already pre ordered the song and the thousands of people who have watched the video.”

Nikki Barraclough, executive director of Prevent Breast Cancer, said: “We’re thrilled to learn that one of our supporters has pledged to raise up to £10,000 for the charity.

“It’s incredibly generous and fantastic to know that everyone adding the single to their Christmas playlist is doing so for a good cause.”
