Ronny's bar in Bromley High Street has had its alcohol licence revoked after the second review in five months.

In April, police were called to a brawl involving teenagers who had been drinking at a 16th birthday party at the bar.

Seven teenagers aged 15 to 17 were arrested at the fight.

The Met's Task Force was also called to help Bromley officers break up the disturbance.

An investigation by council licensing officers and police revealed that nine of the licence conditions were being ignored.

Paul Plummer, the manager of the premises, was issued with a closure notice and told not to reopen until he had complied with all licensing conditions.

Councillor Nicholas Bennett, chairman of the licensing sub-committee, said: “Two reviews in just a few months is virtually unprecedented for us and most licence holders do take their responsibilities seriously.

“But, where the evidence exists, we will not hesitate to take action and in the circumstances, revoking the licence was the only real option available to us.

“The Police’s job is difficult enough as it is and licence holders should be in doubt that breeches of licence conditions will be treated seriously.

“We expect licence holders to keep strictly to the terms of the licence for the very good reasons which are partly outlined in this case.”

The council revoked the licence on the grounds of preventing crime and disorder, in the interests of public safety, to prevent public nuisance and protect children from harm.
