A cat was found abandoned at Sundridge Park train station in Bromley with a bin liner full of toys and food, sparking fears he may have been left accidentally.

A member of the public found Sonny, a long-haired, black male cat, at the station in Plaistow Lane, at around 7pm on Saturday, April 16.

He was in a cat carrier outside the closed ticket office, and next to him was a big bin liner full of toys, food including indoor cat biscuits, cat litter and even some worming tablets.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after taking Sonny into its care.

RSPCA inspector Ellen Thomas said: "It is unusual for a cat to be dumped with quite so many treats and goodies with him.

"His carrier was brand new, and he had everything a loving owner might need to give him a happy life.

"He seemed to have been so cared for - it was almost as if someone had left him accidentally when they got on the train.

"We urge anyone with any information about what happened here to call us on 0300 123 8018.”
