Ex-Charlton football manager Alan Curbishley has presented a minibus to a Green Street Green charity for children with complex medical needs.
The Maypole Project, which supports around 1,000 people each year across south east London, was handed the keys to its new wheels on Monday (October 7).
The charity will use the bus to take children and their families to its sports club Maypole Active, to different treatment centres and for days out.
Sally Flatteau, The Maypole Project founder, said: "This minibus will make a huge impact on the services we can provide to families and the children – where transport is frequently a major block to access.
"We will also have the ability to develop activities and outings that we have, until this point, put on hold."
The Axis Foundation, a project set up by property improvement company Axis Europe to support local causes in the areas it works, donated the bus.
Axis Foundation chair, Peter Varney, said: "I have had the privilege of visiting the Maypole Project and seeing at first hand the wonderful service they provide and I know the minibus is going to make a real impact in the communities in which they operate."
