A woman from Bromley was one of eight arrested across the UK in dawn raids.
The 24-year-old French woman was arrested in London Lane yesterday (June 24) as part of an investigation into benefit fraud and immigration abuse.
The joint operation between the Home Office, Metropolitan Police Service, Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and other agencies saw seven others aged between 24 and 29 arrested.
All were arrested on suspicion of facilitation and fraud offences, with one man also arrested on suspicion of immigration offences.
MORE TOP STORIES Items recovered from the raids included identity documents, several thousand pounds in cash and Class A drugs.
They are all in custody pending further investigations.
Assistant director Martin Huxley, from the Home Office’s criminal and financial investigations team, said: “Our specialist teams will rigorously investigate allegations of immigration related criminality.
“This operation is the result of close collaboration between a number of partner agencies and our investigation is continuing.”
