Here's a little something for the weekend.

Every week I publish my 5 Thoughts, but I always encourage people to send me in their own particular musings.

Well, I'm delighted to say these five have been submitted by someone who would like only to be known by the name Manic Metaller.

I think it is fair say these thought are from a man's perspective.

1 I love the sun, I love the outdoors, but why the minute we get a day of sunshine or throughout the summer season do other people think I and everybody else wants to listen to their music? Whether it's car drivers or homeowners, one bit of sunny weather and they're all at it, blasting it out of their cars or houses like only their enjoyment matters and stuff the public or the neighbours and if you don't like it tough, but do you notice it's always that awful repetitive music with that thud, thud, thud drumbeat that's not even good if it was heavy metal I wouldn't mind!

2 How is it that people can be bothered to drive round to a friend or family member's house but cannot be bothered to get off their lazy backside to knock on the door of that house but will sit and beep their horn? And if that person doesn't come out in 0.1 seconds they'll keep beeping and annoying everyone until they do.

3 What's happened to courtesy and manners when women with laden trollies, unloading onto the conveyer belt in supermarkets, leave you standing behind them with your couple of items? They look at you and go back to unloading their trolly instead of kindly and courteously asking if you'd like to go before them? It's like in their heads they're saying: "Is that all you've got? Shame, you will wait for me and my weeks shopping to go through" . Manners and courtesy cost nothing and show you're a kind decent person who thinks of others.

4 Do we really need to keep putting clocks back during forth during summertime/wintertime? It's nice to have that extra light in the evenings and it's not dark that long in winter mornings but we've got self righteous "we know best" types who keep on using children's safety as the excuse clocks must stick to this one hour change, yet most drive or walk their kids to school anyway. I think most of us would be happier to keep to BST all year round.

5 We all love to visit our local and maybe sit out the beer garden or on benches out front during the summertime, but I must say a lot of pub fronts/gardens don't exactly look very welcoming when they've been taken over by the Phil Mitchell appreciation society. What I mean is groups of shaven headed blokes between the ages of 20 and 55, often dads and grandads old enough to have grown up a bit, wearing lairy shorts or T shirts, usually no top on at all, generally being very loud and obviously full of lager behaving like they've just come from the terraces of a London football ground. It comes to something during the summer when your local ends up being miles away in the nice quiet countryside where pubs ARE welcoming and locals at least make you feel welcome. If you're feeling thoughtful, please do send me your 5 Thoughts and I'll do my best to publish them: aparkes@london.newsquest.co.uk
