Clouds have set in for St George's Day as temperatures prepare to drop over the weekend.
Despite sunny weather setting in over the past few weeks rain is forecast for the London Marathon on Sunday (April 26) and 'much colder' spells are likely to set in next week, Met Office officials say.
Although many places will start cloudy and dull today (April 23) it will slowly brighten up with the cloud retreating back towards the coast by midday.

Most parts of London and Kent will enjoy a sunny afternoon and with maximum temperatures of 19C.
While the sunshine may make a comeback tomorrow (April 24) the weekend looks likely to be chilly with outbreaks of rain overnight and during Saturday.
Wet weather on Sunday will see London Marathon runners face some heavy rain at times.
