Neighbours watched in shock as police stormed a house in Anerley before tasering a man inside, who was threatening to hurt himself with a knife.
Officers were called to a house in Samos Road at 2.05pm yesterday (March 25).
When attempts to talk to the man failed Territorial Support Group (TSG) officers forced their way into the property over concerns for his welfare.
The man, who was found with a knife, was tasered by officers.
He was taken to hospital for treatment of self-inflicted injuries, which are not thought to be serious and was assessed under the Mental Health Act.
