Five men were arrested for criminal damage after a police dog and helicopter search in Orpington on Tuesday (March 24).

Officers were called at 2.15am to reports of an attempted burglary at an address in Footbury Hill Road.

They were joined by the Met Police dog unit and helicopter.

One man was caught on the corner of Forest Way at the junction with Poverest Road.

Four others fled through Poverest Woods before the helicopter unit located them in Sutherland Avenue, Petts Wood.

All five, aged between 20 and 22, were arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage and have been bailed until late March.
