A rolling road block has been lifted after a pig was on the loose in Pratt's Bottom.

The animal caused traffic delays along Sevenoaks Road, between Hewitts Roundabout and its junction with Stonehouse Lane.

The roadblock has now been lifted and traffic is easing in the area.

Danny Day, who runs Jodeen Animal Sanctuary next to Knockholt station, thought it might be one of his 64 pigs as he was broken into yesterday.

Mr Day said: "Someone broke in last night; we have this once or twice a week. They stole a horse coat.

"The gate has been opened a foot or so, so one of the smaller pigs could get out. I've got them three months old to five years.

Mr Day, who has run the sanctuary for four years, added: "I've just got to the farm and just realised the gate was open, I haven't counted them yet. I won't know until I've fed and counted them."

Eyewitness Lesley Yates, 59, was driving to work in Locksbottom when she spotted an unusual sight.

Ms Yates said: "I was driving along the M25 when I saw it nibbling away on grass.

"I thought it was a black bin bag at first! I wasn't sure if I was seeing things."

But Ms Yates, who works for a travel company, says it was a big pig.

She added: "It was black pig and a big one. It definitely wasn't a piglet; it was a proper size pig.

"It was on the grassy verge by the hard shoulder, right on the side by the grass."

"It looked quite content munching on the grass."

Mr Day later confirmed all his large pigs were accounted for, so the mystery of how this little piggy escaped continues.
