Two men assaulted and attempted to rob a betting shop staff member at Taylors Racing Service in Beckenham on Thursday night.
Police were called at 21.15pm after the pair burst into the betting shop on Elmers End Road and tried to force their way behind the counter.
The 39-year-old staff member suffered minor injuries.
The suspects ran off along Croydon Road towards Penge after failing to get behind the counter.
Suspect one is described as a light skinned black man, aged 16 to 20. He is around 6 feet tall, of very slim build and was dressed in black.
He is also described as looking quite messy. He was carrying a distinctive beige and white tea towel.
Suspect two is described as a light skinned black man, aged 16 to 20. He was well groomed and wearing all black including gloves.
He had a blue chequered mask covering the bottom of his face.
No weapon was used.
