A Bromley hockey team has made a ‘naked’ calendar in a bid to keep playing.

Financial times are hard for amateur sporting outfits, and the ladies at Bromley & Beckenham Hockey Club are hoping their 12 months of adventure brings in some much-needed cash.

The women, all aged between 21 and 35, are pictured striking up some adventurous poses across the year.

Organiser Emma Greenway, 34, from Beckenham, told News Shopper the girls had great fun doing it and have had 350 of the calendars printed.

She explained: “We’re doing it because we really need to raise funds. Everything is getting so expensive.

“Small and amateur clubs struggle to keep going and this seemed like the best idea to carry on.

“We did one a couple of years ago but this time we’ve thought a lot more about it. It’s much better.”

The first, second, third, and fourth teams all got involved in the photo shoots, with pictures created in the likes of a changing room and an Irish pub.

Two years ago the ladies managed to make around £2,000 and this time they're are aiming for much more.

They’re also contributing 10 per cent of all sales to Breast Cancer Care, which Miss Greenway says many of the girls have been involved with in some way.

She said: “We’re raising money for the charity too because it’s something very important to us, it’s affected a lot of the team.

“Hopefully the pictures get lots of people interested!”

Miss Greenwood added the team has won four out of five games this year and is perched at second place in the table.
