Bromley Veterans Athletics Club celebrated its 25th birthday on Saturday in Hayes.
Athletes from the 82-strong group gathered in the afternoon to install a commemorative bench at Hayes Common.
The club, which formed in 1989, is thought to have been the first veteran’s athletics association in London of its kind.
Members regularly take part in cross country and track and field events. In honour of their 25th birthday, they have also been fundraising for two charities, St Christopher’s Hospice and Disability Snowsport UK.
Members range from aged 35 to 82. Many of the clubs early members are still involved.
Bromley Veterans Athletics Club chair Anne Unseld, aged 65, of Monks Orchard Road in Beckenham, said: "The club are really pleased to celebrate such a milestone."
The club will also host a 25th anniversary dinner at the Park Langley Club on October 11.
