A Bromley councillor has been selected to stand for the Lewisham East seat at next year's elections.
Councillor Peter Fortune, who is chairman of the Health and Wellbeing Board, will take on incumbent Labour MP Heidi Alexander.
And the 35-year-old media worker has vowed to make health and housing his priority.
He said: "I am over the moon to have been selected to stand for Lewisham East and really look forward to continuing our campaign there."
"There have been some difficult choices made over these last few years as our country has worked to overcome the financial crisis.
"I will campaign to ensure that the people of Lewisham start to see the improvements in housing, education and health that we are seeing elsewhere across the country."
