The developer behind a £90 million Bromley regeneration project has unveiled a new community garden, showing signs of what’s to come.
St Mark’s Church in Westmoreland Road saw its rejuvenated grounds open to the public on Saturday (July 19), while also commemorating the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of World War One.
Bromley mayor Councillor Julian Benington, Bob Neil MP, and the Archdeacon of Bromley and Bexley, Paul Wright, were there to mark the occasion as well as announce the re-dedication of the newly restored parish war memorial.
The garden was created by the Cathedral Group, which is bringing "a new urban lifestyle quarter", named the St Mark’s Square scheme, to Bromley.

Expected to be complete by autumn 2015, the group says the plaza will offer 200 new homes, a hotel, a multiplex cinema, and eight new restaurants.

St Mark’s Church’s new outside space was put together in partnership with the local council, the church, and the Diocese of Rochester to make a "more inviting area for residents", say those involved, and is hoped to “mirror” St Mark’s Square.
