A man caught filming up women’s skirts at Intu Bromley has been banned from the shopping centre and placed under supervision.

Dennis Young, 39, of Wharton Road, Bromley, appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court today (April 15) for sentencing.

He had pleaded guilty on March 25 to two counts of public indecency.

Today district judge Roger Ede told Young, who was dressed entirely in black, he would not be able to set foot in Intu for 24 months.

Young also heard he must serve a community order, which includes regular supervision, for the duration – and is also required to undertake a sex offenders’ programme.

Unemployed Young was seen filming shoppers at the centre in October 2013 and was charged earlier this year.

Mitigating, Simon May told the court Young is continuing to visit a psychotherapist and added no subsequent allegations of wrongdoing have been lodged against the man.

During proceedings prosecutor Denise Clewes and the judge had discussed the possibility of restricting Young from entering other shopping centres, but it was decided the intervention would be unnecessary.

Young was ordered to pay £65 in court fees and surcharge.
