PASSENGERS faced cancellations and delays on their journeys across London and Kent this morning (Dec 24).
Southeastern and First Capital Connect services were both massively disrupted.
Following the extreme weather from yesterday which included gale force winds and flooding, all Southeastern mainline or metro services are cancelled until further notice.
The train company issued an alert at 8.15am this morning warning travellers.
A spokesman said: “Following last night's storm, no Southeastern mainline or metro services are running until later this morning to allow Network Rail the chance to check and clear fallen trees.
“Please check our live running information or National Rail Enquiries before travelling.
“We will update our website and Twitter feed as the situation changes and as Network Rail advises it is safe for trains to start running.
“Buses will continue to replace trains between Tunbridge Wells and Robertsbridge due to a landslide of the railway embankment at Wadhurst at the weekend.
“High speed services between Ashford and St Pancras International are running.
“Services start to wind down earlier on Christmas Eve so please check the time of your last train.”
There is also no service on First Capital Connect between Blackfriars and Haywards Heath due to adverse weather conditions.
