POLICE are targetting five retail areas in the run-up to Christmas as part of the Safer Shopping initiative.
Until December 24, Bromley police will be focusing on high streets in Bromley, Orpington, Penge, Petts Wood and West Wickham - all of which suffered increases in crime and anti-social behaviour last year.
Over the past month, safer neighbourhood teams have been patrolling the areas and speaking to members of the public about the issues they face.
Safer neighbourhoods head Chief Inspector Marshall Kent said: "We are actively targeting these five town centres with additional patrols and activities to make the run up to Christmas safe and enjoyable for our communities, businesses and all who come to the borough of Bromley to shop."
