Signet ring found at Orpington train station

A SIGNET ring has been found in a train station ticket machine and News Shopper is hoping to help reunite the item with its owner.

The item was discovered lying in the ticket and change collection slot of one of the machines on the taxi rank side of Orpington Station on January 27.

There are initials on the front of the ring and it is believed it might be of sentimental value to its owner.

Anyone who has lost such a ring should email lj.north@sky.com

The person claiming it must be able to prove ownership and give a description of the item.

Why is NS condoning theft. If found at the station it should have been handed in to the station operates - Southeastern - to treat as Lost property or to the police. Any other action is theft and I am surprised NS is prepared to be a party to this. Better if you didn't act illegally and reported real news.

It's not theft if the person who found the ring has taken reasonable steps to find the owner, which they have clearly done in this instance.
