AN ARMED robbery in Beckenham has led police to a stash of drugs worth around £1 million.
The initial incident occurred on Saturday (Feb 16) at around 10am when there was an armed robbery at Paddy Power bookies in Beckenham High Street.
Officers from the Met’s Flying Squad and Bromley police arrested a man, aged 25, from Beckenham on suspicion of armed robbery the following day. He remains in custody and has already had his custody extended for further questioning.
After his arrest, police searched two properties, one in Hayes Way and one in Kelsey Lane, where they found a drugs stash.
A Bromley police spokesman said: “Officers recovered a substantial quantity of Class A and Class B drugs, with a street value of approximately £1 million.
“The man has been further arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs.”
