POP up shops are normally filled with edgy fashion or kooky collectables rather than big green and blue prehistoric creatures.
But when an internet café popped up in St Hugh’s Community Centre, St Hughs Road, Anerley, Webster the digital dinosaur was there to help out.
He gave first time internet users advice about how to make the most of the World Wide Web including by looking for jobs and training courses and save money by paying bills and shopping online.
The executive councillor for care services Cllr Robert Evans was on hand to meet Webster and speak to café visitors.
He said: “For so many of us using the internet is integral to how we live our lives.
“Schemes such as this are all important to give people what are fast becoming essential skills to take part in our increasingly digital society.”
The event was run by housing association Affinity Sutton.
