A GRANDMOTHER who was hit by a car while she was with her grandchild in Petts Wood on Friday remains in intensive care.

The woman, who is in her 60s, is said to have a light bleed on the brain and is in Kings College Hospital, Denmark Hill.

She was knocked to the ground by a grey VW Sharan which was reversing in Station Square near The Daylight Inn and Sainsbury’s supermarket.

Her two-year-old grandchild was also taken to hospital following the incident which happened at around noon on Friday (February 8) but was released the same day.

Police cordoned off the road for around three-and-a-half hours while they were investigating what happened.

The driver of the VW Sharan stopped at the scene.

There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
