YOUNG jazz musicians are jetting off to China to share their love of the music while experiencing the culture.
The 33 pupils from Langley Park School for Girls (LPSG) Touring Jazz Orchestra will be giving three concerts in Beijing with pieces including Ray Charles’s Hallelujah and George Gershwin’s Summertime.
And they will also be visiting sites including the Great Wall of China.
LPSG head of music Caroline Daniel said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to travel and play in a totally different culture on the other side of the world. “The students will be great ambassadors for jazz and the school.”
It has taken them six months to raise the funds for the trip.
