AN UNPAID carer is on ‘cloud nine’ after a once-in-a-lifetime experience was created for her by a host of Bromley businesses.

Amanda Morris, 45, of Castlecombe Road, Mottingham, who cares for her 17-year-old daughter with severe autism, was left 'speechless' on discovering she had won the Caring Angels Day competition prize which was organised by local companies on Twitter.

The idea grew from one message on the social networking site from Garden of Pomegranates manager Nathalie Baron, who runs the massage and therapy centre, in Claremont Road, Bickley, and has personal experience of being a carer.

Eight companies based provided free services for the special day on January 24. Cannon Cars, of Bourne Way, Bromley, provided chauffeur-driven transport, Bromley-based Level 11 Photography took snaps, and Cinnamon Culture Restaurant in Plaistow Lane laid on a lavish lunch.

The mum of two was treated to a hair makeover at Baccarat Hair Design in Beckenham High Street and “delicious” cupcakes from Catering Heaven of Ringshall Road in Orpington.

She also enjoyed a 2.5 hour relation massage at Garden of Pomegranates, a manicure from Image Consultants Damson Belle and a professional makeover from Ann-Marie Lawson of Lawsons of London.

Ms Morris said: “I am on cloud nine because it was so amazing.

“Everyone was really kind and it was such a beautiful experience because I’d never had anything like it before.

“I’d like to thank everyone involved – I’ve been telling all my friends and family about it because I enjoyed it so much. It was so exciting.”
