A DRIVER in St Mary Cray has been arrested after turning into a dead end road while allegedly attempting to avoid police.
Police officers were patrolling Sevenoaks Way in St Mary Cray 2.45am yesterday (Jan 16) when they noticed a vehicle acting suspiciously. The driver tried to avoid officers by turning into Stanley Way and then Hood Avenue, a dead end road.
The 27-year-old was subsequently arrested on suspicion of drink driving, driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance.
One of the passengers, an 18 year-old-man, was also arrested as there was a warrant out for his arrest for failing to appear at court while the two other people in the car were released without charge.
The vehicle, a Volkswagen Polo, was impounded.
Matthew Hart, aged 27, a builder of Ascot Road in St Mary Cray has been charged with drink driving, driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence and driving without insurance.
He will appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on February 11.
