A 37-YEAR old man is in hospital after slipping onto the tracks at Bromley South station this morning.

News Shopper has received reports that at around 8am a man with a large rucksack, overbalanced onto the tracks at the busy station.

Commuters and an off-duty Bromley police officer helped him up but it is believed he received a very serious head injury and was taken by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) to Kings College Hospital in Denmark Hill. 

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokeswoman said: “BTP officers were called to Bromley South station on January 16 following a report of a man falling from the platform onto the tracks.

“The incident was reported to BTP at 7.48am and is currently being treated as non-suspicious.

“Medics from the LAS also attended and the man was taken to hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.”

A LAS spokesperson said: “We were called at 7.45am yesterday, 16 January, to reports of a person on the tracks at Bromley South Railway Station.

"We sent one ambulance crew to the scene. Our staff treated a 37 year old man for head injuries who was taken to Kings College Hospital as a priority.”
