A LITTLE girl's greatest wish came true last week when she flew with the cast of Peter Pan at the Churchill Theatre.

Nikkita Mills, 5, was diagnosed with a Wilms' tumour - a cancer of the kidneys that typically occurs in children - in August 2011.

The following month she had surgery to remove the tumour and this was followed by extensive chemotherapy.

Nikkita has now finished her treatment and last month was told the cancer had gone into remission.

Her father, Nick Mills, said: "Nikkita's wish was so fantastic it is difficult to pinpoint a favourite part of the day from her. The cast and staff at the Churchill Theatre were all wonderfully attentive and made Nikkita feel very special. This day will live in our memories forever."

She has watched Peter Pan quite a few times and loves the story.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions, and has granted over 8,400 since it was founded in 1986.
