Year 9 pupil Reece Clark
IT’S all plain sailing for a Biggin Hill schoolboy as he has won two awards for his naval skills.
Year 9 pupil Reece Clark, from Charles Darwin School, in Jail Lane, has won the Queen’s Jubilee Award from the boroughs of Greenwich and Bexley for his tutoring during two charity regattas throughout the year.
He was also awarded the Royal Yachting Association South East England Achievement Shield and recently completed the first part of his junior sailing instructor course.
Father Mark Clark said: "His grandfather first encouraged him to get involved, and took him to the sailing club from about the age of seven."
Reece said: ""I am proud and surprised to receive this.
"I am simply doing something I really enjoy. I hope I can continue with my training and become a fully qualified instructor not only of sailing boats but of safety boats as well."
