SANTA Claus came to town to spread festive cheer as Christmas lights were switched on in Chislehurst.
As well as a visit from the man himself at the event on December 1 there was a performance from singing group Popchoir, a stready stream of mulled wine from the Queen’s Head, and a raffle, before the lights were switched on at 4pm.
Chislehurst Town Centre Management Group member Clare Herriot said she visited all 120 High Street and Belmont Parade shops to create support for the event.
She said "It was a huge success. There was buzzing atmosphere and a sense of community.
"Chislehurst is a wonderful place to visit; a mixture of great places to eat, shop and places to visit. These events bring everyone together and celebrate what as good about this area."
