BROMLEY youngsters have been promoting advice on preventing burglaries.

The volunteer police cadets visited locations across the borough distributing anti-burglary packs, as part of the local anti-burglary initiative Operation Flint.

The teenagers, aged between 14 and 17, were out in West Wickham last week distributing crime prevention advice booklets to passerbys and residents.

They have been handing in excess of 600 leaflets a day, two nights a week throughout November and will be continuing across the borough in the run up to Christmas.

PC John Blackman from Bromley police said: "Residents have commented how nice it has been to see our young cadets taking a keen interest in their community and actively assisting with crime prevention.

"They have been most impressed by the cadets’ enthusiasm and desire to make a real contribution to community safety".
