Bromley businesses team up with fitness company to inspire healthy eating
11:37am Tuesday 27th November 2012 in Bromley By Heloise Wood
A HEALTH revolution is coming to West Wickham with a fitness company teaming up with Bromley businesses to encourage healthy eating.
To inspire more affordable nutrition, Kick Start Fat Loss (KSFL) coach Chris Tuck has got nearby butchers, fishmongers, organic grocers and fruit and veg suppliers on board.
They give members a discount so people can cook from healthy, locally sourced food rather than reaching for processed snacks or diet products.
The businesses are also making videos to educate members on where food comes from, how to choose seasonally, and the best ways to prepare the produce.
Bromley-based companies include Phil the Butcher from J Par & Sons, in Coney Hall Parade, Horton’s Fishmongers, in Beckenham High Street and Market Fresh Wholesale.
Delivery companies Riverfood Organic Veg is also giving a helping hand.
Ms Tuck said: “It’s time for a change, a new generation of classes suitable for all levels that encourage a great community feel.”
Founder Rachel Holmes said she wanted to “get people using local resources with fresh produce instead of filling their trolleys with two for one offers at the supermarket”.
KSFL Club is launching on January 9 at 6.45pm at Beccehamians Rugby Club, in Sparrows Den and January 14 at 10am at Wickham Hall, in Sussex Road.

Let's hope the revolution spreads as far as Erith, Swanley, Thamesmead and Dartford.
I'm not holding my breath though.
