London is love cheat capital: Most affairs in England and Wales

More marital affairs happen in London says the survey

MORE people cheat on their husbands and wives in London than anywhere else in England and Wales, says a new survey.

More than a quarter of all married couples in the city have had affairs, the survey also says.

These figures are much higher than East Anglia, where only 17 per cent admitted cheating on their spouse and in south east England where only 18 per cent admitted to doing the same.

Eight per cent of married Londoners admitted cheating more than five times.

The One Poll survey, commissioned by extra-marital dating site, IllicitEncounters.com, quizzed 3,601 married couples about their sexual antics.

The results also showed Londoners coming in the top five regions for most frequent sex within marriage.

Eighteen per cent said they had sex almost every day with only the West Midlands, 21 per cent, and Wales, 18 per cent, beating them to the top spot.

Londoners came second in the country as the most sexually satisfied.

Forty two per cent of married Londoners said they were happy with the amount of sex they were getting.

IllicitEncounters.com spokeswoman, Rosie Freeman-Jones, said: “Longer working hours and the stresses and strains of living in the capital during the recession has put a huge strain on marriages.

“As a result we have found that a growing number of Londoners have been tempted to look outside of their relationship to release the pressure of an unhappy home life and a punishing work schedule.”
