Twenty firefighters tackle fire in third floor Erith flat

TWENTY firefighters were called to a third floor flat in Erith after a fire broke out on Saturday (September 15) evening.

Crews from Erith and Plumstead fire stations were scrambled to the flat in Redpoll Way at 7:21pm.

They had the fire under control less than an hour later, by 8:15pm.

The flat was severely damaged by the flames but there were no reports of injuries.

London Fire Brigade says the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
