Nick Raynsford MP to join public meeting on South London Healthcare Trust at Charlton House

MP to attend public meeting on South London Healthcare Trust MP to attend public meeting on South London Healthcare Trust

A PUBLIC meeting is being held to debate the future of the area's financially-crippled health service.

South London Healthcare Trust, which runs the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich along with three others, is facing administration due to its massive deficit in a move by the Department for Health which has provoked wide debate.

On July 19, a meeting organised by health campaigners and open to all will include an appearance by Greenwich and Woolwich MP Nick Raynsford, who has criticised the administration move.

The meeting takes place from 7.30pm at Charlton House.

Members of the GMB union have also launched an online petition calling on the government to provide financial assistance to the trust.

The petition states: "It cannot be right, that as country, we are prepared to bailout the banks but not our NHS."

Personally, I would rather we had a system where we were all responsible for our own lives. That we should only grudgingly nationalise any "competence", but there are a few things...

Defence from external attack, protection of property rights and co-ordination of various structural networks... Water, roads rails etc.. er.. that's about it, and given that scenario, given that we would never have our hard-earned stolen from us (tax), these questions would not arise...

However, since they have, because government over control / micro manage everything, the question in the petition is a very good one...

Our government currently spends £50 million per day on the EU (around £14-18 billion per annum, depending on the current level of rebate)... The shortfall for the trust which has three hospitals on PFI £1 billion...

DO THE SUMS!

I am not quite sure what polly straight wad saying, but I do get that she us very concerned and angry at the powers that be for allowing this situation to exist. I will not attend the meeting because 1) any objection or ideas put up by any member of the Public will be quickly shut down with excuses and false justifications and they will win. 2) if no one turns up they will still go aheadwith their plans. A win win for them.
