DOGS were competing for more than just treats this weekend when they lined up to show off their party tricks and pedigree good looks.

Community group Friends of Foots Cray Meadows organised the dog show on June 23 at the meadows’ information centre in Rectory Lane, Sidcup.

The event was aimed to raise awareness and interest in the meadows from dog walkers.

Categories included Prettiest Cougar, aimed at dogs over the age of six, Waggiest Tail and Dogs That Look Most like Their Owners.

The show was judged by TV personality and dog trainer Rob Alleyne who dished out bronze, silver and gold medals in keeping with the Olympic theme.

Treasurer of the group, Maggie Dodd said: “It was really excellent the weather remained dry.

“Entrants are all hoping we will run another event soon.”
