AN OPEN morning is being held in Sidcup for people to learn more about volunteering for the Metropolitan Police Service.

Bexley Police’s volunteer manager will be on hand to talk to visitors about the opportunities available to volunteers and how they can help the police force.

The aim of Met Police Volunteers (MPVs), a scheme launched in 2001, is to get communities more closely involved in policing issues that matter to them.

Assisting at the front counter in Marlowe House is among the opportunities available to MPVs in Bexley.

The open morning will be held at Marlowe House, in Station Road, between 10am and 2pm on June 23 and no appointments are necessary.
