GETTING rid of unwanted clothes has been made simpler for 12,000 Bexley households.

Bexley Council has teamed up with charity TRAID for a five month textiles collection service for 8,000 homes in North Welling and 4,000 in Bexleyheath and Barnehurst, which started last month.

Clothes collected will be re-used at charity shops or recycled and a similar scheme at 8,000 Welling homes last year saw 4.5 tonnes collected.

To check if your road is part of the scheme, to see what can be collected or to find out where you can take clothes for recycling, go to Bexley.gov.uk/traid or call 020 8303 7777.
