Severe weather warnings as snow expected across London and Kent
Weather warnings have been issued for London and the south east as the cold snap continues to bite.
Snow is expected this weekend, as early as this evening, with average temperatures expected to remain around 0°C, according to the Met Office.
"(Friday will be) a very cold day across the UK, with temperatures barely rising above freezing in many places," said a forecaster.
"Some snow showers are likely in eastern England."
However, snow showers are expected to become more widespread into the night, particularly in Kent and East Anglia.
Temperatures are set to rise slightly on Saturday and Sunday, although further snow showers are expected throughout Saturday night with significant accumulations possible.
